# Postedly capabilities, prices, and sending limits

Postedly prepares, quotes, and fulfills supported mail, cards, and faxes through its website and authenticated assistant tools. It also prints and mails paper checks drawn on the owner’s own verified US checking account, which the owner signs and pays for. Make & send an object is a separate beta request with a custom price and manual review.

## Service availability and prices

| Service | Price | At last check |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Fax | $2.99 | Available for eligible orders |
| Letter | $4.99 | Available for eligible orders |
| Certified mail | $14.99 | Available for eligible orders |
| Postcard | $4.99 | Available for eligible orders |
| Handwritten card | $9.99 mailed | Available for eligible orders |
| Paper check | $6.99 | Available for eligible orders |
| Make & send an object — Beta | Custom price | [Request a custom quote](https://postedly.com/send?service=object) |

USD. Prices exclude applicable tax. Standard handwritten cards include US postage. A paper check’s price is Postedly’s service fee; the check amount stays in your own account until the payee deposits it. “From” indicates a variable price. “Custom price” requires manual review of an object request. Eligibility and the final total are confirmed in your quote. [View the source catalog](https://postedly.com/api/catalog).

## Object beta: a manually reviewed custom quote

Make & send an object starts with ready STL or 3MF files and simple plastic objects. Submit your material, color, quantity, size, and shipping preferences through the beta request. The form prepares an email; attach the model in your email app. The team confirms suitability and sends a custom quote for the specifications, total, and estimated delivery.

Choose “Help prepare my design” for an image or sketch. Any design-review fee is agreed before work begins; manufacturing needs its own quote and approval.

The catalog marks this service beta with priceType “custom” and quoteMode “manual”. Its available flag is false because automated uploads, quotes, checkout, fulfillment, and tracking do not support object orders. Follow quoteUrl to request a manual review. A request does not create an order, charge a payment, or start production.

## Supported inputs and destinations

| Service | Input | Destination or limit |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Letters and certified mail | Unencrypted portrait US Letter PDF, up to 10 MiB. | US sender and recipient addresses in the 50 states or DC. The configured page limit and six-sheet postal limit include the added address sheet. |
| Fax | Up to five PDF pages, up to 10 MiB, plus Postedly’s cover. | US billing address and US recipient with a supported +1 fax number; supported toll-free destinations included. |
| Postcards | Two-page landscape PDF with the exact current size and bleed, up to 10 MiB. | Supported US addresses. Read documentRequirements in the public catalog or the template on the sending page. |
| Handwritten cards | An available catalog card, handwriting style, message, and closing. | Supported US sender and recipient addresses. Private review supports a rendered handwriting preview alongside design and style samples; the finished card may vary. |
| Checks | A payee, amount, and optional memo, drawn on the owner’s own Plaid-verified US checking account. No PDF upload. $6.99 service fee plus tax; the face value is not charged by Postedly. | One US payee per check. The owner reviews the full proof, confirms their bank passkey, signs, and pays in their browser; an assistant can only prepare the draft. |

## Account, review, and payment

The website uses a private sending session and verifies your sender email before checkout. Assistant connections use OAuth; files, quotes, and orders belong to the connected owner. An assistant should reuse its existing connection and can omit sender.email when quoting to use that account’s verified email. Verification codes stay out of chat.

The standard assistant workflow opens a private Postedly review page and then Stripe Checkout. The person paying reviews the exact document or item, recipient, and total, and verifies the email for receipts and order history; an existing verified browser session can be reused. That specific order is visible to the payer and the originating assistant connection. Earlier orders are not automatically moved. Connecting an assistant is not blanket sending approval.

Payment and fulfillment remain separate. Fax authorizes payment before transmission and captures after success. Other supported services proceed after confirmed payment. A check prints only after its owner signs it and the service-fee payment succeeds. Always check the actual order state.

## Assistant compatibility and evidence

As of September 20, 2026: Muse was tested through PDF transfer, an unpaid fax quote, and final-proof review. Claude web was tested through PDF transfer, an unpaid fax quote, and a private review link. Codex transferred an actual PDF through MCP, received an unpaid $4.99 fax quote, and verified the final PDF hash and two-page count. Its private review remained unapproved; a separate $11.99 handwritten-card quote and review also passed. Both Codex quotes reused the verified sender email without asking for it again. Visual proof review was not performed in Codex. ChatGPT was tested through connection and service lookup. None of these tests completed approval, payment, or fulfillment, and Cowork has not been tested separately.

Other guides distinguish documented or experimental setup from tested stages. Client features, permissions, and file access determine which steps can happen inside an assistant. Use the website fallback when a client cannot transfer the file or complete a required review step.

## What tracking can establish

A quote does not establish payment. Payment does not establish delivery. The order exposes separate payment and fulfillment states, a timeline, and available provider evidence.

Ordinary mail progress can be estimated. The current PostGrid adapter records provider completion as sent with estimated delivery. Fax delivery records a successful transmission, not human reading. Certified mail extra services must be confirmed in the supported product rather than inferred. A check shows printing and mailing status, not clearing, which Postedly cannot observe.

## Public technical references

Read the public catalog without a sending session. Use the API contract and connection guide for authentication, exact inputs, quote responses, file transfer, and order retrieval. Keep private documents, previews, approval links, and order details out of public indexes.
