# Postedly vs. Lob and PostGrid: which fits your AI mailing task?

Your assistant has finished the letter. The next choice is how to get it mailed. Postedly gives you a prepared order to review and pay for. Lob and PostGrid offer direct mailing APIs for building that workflow into your own software. The right fit depends on how much of the sending experience you want to build.

## For “mail this letter,” start with the finished order

Postedly connects a supported assistant to document transfer, a mailing quote, a private review page, payment, and order status. You connect your Postedly account, provide the actual PDF and addresses, and review the exact proof and price before payment. You do not need a separate mailing-provider account for a Postedly order.

The current offering covers letters, certified mail, postcards, fax, standard handwritten cards, and paper checks drawn on your own US checking account. Orders have one recipient. Each service has file, destination, and eligibility limits; check the live catalog before preparing a send.

## For a mailing feature in your product, compare direct APIs

Lob documents REST APIs for mail and address verification, API-key authentication, SDKs, templates, and scheduled mail. Its developer quickstart begins with a Lob account and API keys. Those are useful building blocks when your application needs to control its own mailing workflow.

## PostGrid is also part of how Postedly mails

PostGrid offers Print & Mail and Address Verification APIs, a dashboard, and integrations. Its documentation covers account setup, API keys, and a test mode in which mail is not printed or sent. Postedly uses PostGrid behind its letter, certified-mail, and postcard services.

PostGrid also publishes an MCP endpoint for access to its API and documentation. MCP alone is therefore not the distinction. Choose a direct integration when you want to work with a provider account and build around its capabilities; choose Postedly when its prepared-order and approval flow fits the task.

## Choose by the work in front of you

| Your task | A useful starting point |
| --- | --- |
| Mail one finished PDF from an assistant | Try Postedly’s connection guide and prepare a quote. Review the final proof and total before payment. |
| Build mail into your own application or CRM | Evaluate Lob and PostGrid directly against your formats, volume, integrations, and operational requirements. |
| Use one approval flow for fax, mail, and a handwritten card | Compare Postedly’s current services and supported limits. Each send remains a separate order. |
| Send a bulk campaign or need provider-specific options | Evaluate direct-provider products. Postedly’s current flow is for one recipient per order. |

## Compare the complete job, not an API call

Postedly publishes a retail service price for eligible sends and returns an exact quote before payment. A direct-provider comparison should include the mailing format, postage, account plan, volume, taxes, and the engineering and support your workflow needs. This guide makes no claim that Postedly is the cheapest option.

An MCP connection does not prove that a particular assistant can transfer your file, approve payment, or complete a delivery. Read the dated test evidence for the client you use. A quote is preparation; it is not proof that an item was paid for or delivered.

## Try the task before committing to an integration

This comparison is published by Postedly and describes our own fit alongside linked provider documentation. It is not an independent benchmark or a claim of endorsement. Product capabilities can change; check the linked sources and current catalog before deciding.

Example request

> Use Postedly to prepare this PDF as a mailed letter. Check the current service, use the exact recipient and return address I provide, and show me the final proof and total. If address verification fails, explain the specific reason and ask before preparing an as-entered address for review. Do not pay or send until I approve.
