The certified service and its limits
USPS Certified Mail provides a mailing receipt and verification of delivery or attempted delivery. Return Receipt is a separate extra service for a delivery record that includes a signature.
Postedly’s catalog identifies USPS certified mail with a tracking number. It does not promise every USPS extra service. Return receipts, restricted delivery, and other signature options must not be assumed from the word “certified.” This page does not determine whether a mailing meets a legal requirement.
Start with a finished PDF
Use an unencrypted PDF, at most 10 MiB, with portrait US Letter pages measuring 8.5 × 11 inches. Save your final wording into the file before requesting a quote. Postedly prints the file you approve.
- A separate address page is added to letters and certified mail. Review its placement in the final proof.
- The upload system accepts PDFs with 1–50 pages, but this is not a mailing allowance. The current letter service permits at most six physical sheets including its address sheet; the selected mailing and printing options can have lower page limits.
- A document that uploads successfully can still fail the service-specific quote checks. Follow the returned page or size correction before trying again.
Supported addresses
Letters, certified mail, and postcards currently require complete sender and recipient addresses in the 50 United States or Washington, DC. Include the name, street address, apartment or suite when needed, city, two-letter state, and ZIP code. International addresses and US territories are not supported by the current mail address validation.
- A connected assistant can reuse your verified sender email for order updates. A new website session asks you to verify it securely.
- Check the address in the final proof, including any postal correction returned during quoting.
Review the certified quote
Certified mail has its own fixed service price and supported mailing class. Document length and supported print settings determine eligibility; applicable tax can change the final total. Review the returned service, final proof, recipient, and estimated timing before approving.
Review the exact order before payment
Review the final proof, recipient, sender, service, estimated timing, and total. Your connected account reuses its verified email; a new website session may require verification. Confirm the sending details and terms before continuing to payment. The normal website and assistant review flow uses hosted Stripe Checkout.
A draft, upload, connection, or quote does not pay or send. If the document, address, options, or price changes, request a new quote and review it again. An expired quote also needs to be replaced.
Timing and what the status means
Printing and postal transit take several business days. Use the estimate shown in your quote; it is not a guaranteed arrival date.
Order updates can show preparation, printing, and postal progress. A sent update or estimated arrival does not necessarily confirm that the recipient received the item. Read the sending record for the evidence actually available.
